NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY!!!!

NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY!!!!

MY THANX!!!!

The news is very true, I will be attending the 2010 GRAMMY Awards in Los Angeles, California on January 31st 2010. The nomination is in the Best Musical Album for Children category for my collaboration with Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer resulting in a project we call, Banjo to Beatbox. In addition to the nomination, I will be performing at the GRAMMY Museum in LA with Cathy & Marcy on January 30th. It is my mission to do more collaborative projects like this to merge worlds together. I am very honored to be supported by the diverse communities that nurtured my creativity such as the DC Spoken-Word/Poetry/Open-Mike Scene, Strathmore, Cathy & Marcy, Duke Ellington School of the Arts & DCPS in general, DC Village Homeless Shelter for Families, which I am a product-of, Southeast and all of DC that gave me lessons & stories that I will continue to carry with me as I travel. This nomination is a very-big deal for me but is simply meaningless without the family structure and the support that everyone has given me from being a kid in Southeast, DC, writing rhymes in the Section 8 housing projects, to traveling to places where African-Americans are seldom seen and opening their minds to realize our connection!

Thank you, Everyone for your support and shaping my perspectives! This is now OUR nomination as a community!!!!
